Tamarron is one of the newer communities in the Katy area, and the siding question there is not hardboard failure. It is fiber-cement care, trim, caulk and paint, and damage from the same wind events that reached the rest of the area.
Fiber-cement plank on a house under a decade old is not near the end of its life. What ages faster than the plank is the paint film and the caulk at joints, trim and penetrations. A wall in this condition benefits from a look at the caulk lines and the bottom courses before there is a problem. Siding repair and trim covers what those small repairs are.
